About the Study Centre
Para Wirra Study Centre
The Para Wirra Study Centre is set within the Para Wirra Recreation Park, 22km from the College.
It is set in eucalypt woodland above the beautiful South Para River Gorge. Trinity College leases the centre from the Department of Environment and Heritage.
It is suitable for day trips. Popular activities include camping, hiking, exploring the river environment and learning about the history of the area.
Bookings
To forward an enquiry about booking the centre please email Dr Michael Slocombe (details in the left hand column) with details of the date, student/teacher numbers and the purpose of the visit.
Blackham Environmental and Conservation Centre
The Blackham Environmental & Conservation Centre is owned by the College and is just 16km away in the Humbug Scrub district. It is a wonderful bush block, with steep hills and deep gullies, old mine workings and a waterfall.
The College has recently built a shelter shed, toilet block and wash up area at the site, with funds generously provided by our community through the Annual Giving.
Students from Year 1 upwards enjoy experiencing the natural environment at Blackham. Older students may be involved in environmental studies and land care activities. The two permanent orienteering courses attract Outdoor Education Classes.
