From the Director

Dear Parents,

Last term finished off well with the children continuing to enjoy the Cubby House on the sunny days and sheltering in it on the rainy ones!.

The programme became more flexible to allow the children to take as much advantage as possible of the warm sunny weather. The children were becoming a little tired over the last two weeks of term and will enjoy a well-deserved holiday.

Lunch Boxes

Next term we are providing a fridge for lunch boxes for the children who stay all day. Sorry, morning and afternoon teas will still need to be placed on an ice pack (for yoghurts etc) due to space restrictions. We ask that you put your child's lunch in a plastic lunch box, not an insulated bag, keeping in mind that sometimes we will have to fit up to 40 lunch boxes in our fridge.

If your child is due to stay for lunch, a trolley will be available in the classrooms to place the lunch box on, a staff member will load all the lunchboxes in the fridge at regular intervals until everybody has arrived. The lunch staff will take the lunches from the fridge and have them waiting in the lunch care room for the children. The lunch boxes will then be placed back in the child's bag ready to go home.

Parent Feedback

Something else to look out for will be the Parent Feedback book in the bag room. As part of our ongoing Quality Improvement Plan for the Preschool, we would love to read your thoughts and comments. This allows us to offer you the best possible service, catering to the needs of both children and parents associated with this service.

School Transition

Next term will also see the children who are starting school in January involved in the our transition programme. I will let you know more details closer to the time.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Don’t forget the parent teacher interviews to be held on Monday October 31, from 1-5pm. (Please note, in original letter date was listed as Monday October 21 in error).

All the teachers look forward to seeing you, this will be a great chance to catch up on your child's progress and individual programme.

Term four will go quickly with only 9 weeks until the Christmas break.
